Peer Review

I chose to evaluate my peers second paper on Scientific Discourse and the role of IMRAD. During a careful evaluation of the comments I made on my peers paper, I noticed that my peer review skills had significantly gotten better from the first paper. In my peers introduction I noted that she was using to much summary and started getting repetitive. I suggested that she concise the information and get to her point faster. In my peers body paragraphs I noticed she was giving information with out using quotes to back it up. I suggested that she refer to role of IMRAD and show more evidence. There was also a spot in the body paragraphs where I noticed a chance to organize her paper so I suggested that she split a large paragraph where she discussed two topics into different paragraphs to make the separate claims stronger.

I believe that my peer review skills developed over the course of the term and it certainly showed in my grades. Early in the term I gave vague comments and focus mostly on correcting local errors. By the end of the term I feel as though my comments actually had something significant to offer. I know that I can continue to build on my peers review skills but I believe I have gotten my skills to a place where my comments can be taken seriously.
