Over the course of the term, my grasp on the MLA format has increased significantly. I put the use of my developed MLA skills on display in my significant writing project. With the use of the book Little Seagull, my works cited page was documented correctly with all of my sources cited in MLA format. Throughout my paper I integrated headers and quotations correctly according to the format. For example on page four I state, “Alexander presents in her article “ the popularity of the victim narrative in student texts indicates that students associate school based literacy practices with oppression and even cruelty” (618).”. Since I used Alexander’s name to introduce the quote, it was not necessary for me to cite her name at the end of the quote. I followed the MLA format to a tee for the duration of my entire paper.
